Must possess 3 years' experience of working in a Waste Assessment role.
- Must be able to demonstrate an awareness and understanding of Waste Legislation
Environmental Permits and Waster Acceptance Procedures.
- Must be able to assess suitable waste management options (disposal restoration treatment) for customer enquiries by undertaking an assessment of the waste in accordance with current technical guidance and comparison to in-house waste threshold values.
- Must possess the knowledge needed to ensure that waste acceptance falls within the licence or permit for a specific site.
- Must be able to identify waste types and be able to apply this knowledge practically to ensure that the waste taken to a site is deemed acceptable when considering the legislation and environmental permits.
- Possess the knowledge to assist the development of Waste Sampling Plans for incoming waste.
- Possess the ability to confidently liaise with sites and laboratories to facilitate compliance samples.
- Possess the skills to update team members regarding sampling variations and compliance issues relating to incoming waste streams.
- Possess excellent and proven administration skills and use these skills to:
- Ensure that reports and the documentation relating to reports is retained and easily accessible.
- Ensure that all customer enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner and in line with Company policies processes and controls.
- Support other members of the team as needed.
- Possess excellent communication skills and use these skills to ensure the accuracy of transfer and consignment notes.

Kim, our Senior Sales Manager is looking to recruit an experienced Waste Assessor to join her team. The key job purpose for our Waste Assessor is to assess technical data/site investigations from our customers to determine material acceptance into all Enovert’s sites and to review sampling results from material disposed of and implement corrective action where necessary. In addition, Kim is looking for an individual with excellent administration skills. They should be a team player and willing to help and support their colleagues as needed to ensure that deadlines are achieved etc.

The successful person will receive (in addition to the salary), an annual discretionary bonus (up to 12.5% of the annual salary), private healthcare (for the employee only), 20 days annual leave per year, option to join Enovert's pension scheme.

Primary Purpose of the Role

To assess technical data/site investigations from customers.
Prepare waste assessments (soils and difficult waste) across all sites and liaise with customers as needed.
To ensure that the Waste Acceptance Procedures are being adhered to for all sites.
Update the team and Managers rwgarding current legislative requirements.
Key Accountabilities

Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of waste legislation and waste acceptance procedures.
Build and develop successful relatiuonships with external customers and assist with assessment queries.
Assess suitable waste management options (disposal, restoration, treatment) for customer enquiries by undertaking waste assessment in accordance with technical guidance and coparison to in-house waste threshold values.
Preparation of waste disposal quotations (via assessment input to database).
Ensure that reports and documentation relating to reports is retained for ease of retrieval.
Ensurew the accuracy of Transfer and Consignment Notes (via communication with Weighbridge staff and in accordance with the Waste Acceptance Procedures and Duty of Care.
Preparation of Waste Sampling Plans in accordance with the sampling regime.
Assessment of analytical compliance data and the follow-up of any corrective actions needed.
Monitor and ensure that all non-compliant material is reported to the Waste Acceptance Manager.
Review sampling results and implement corrective actions as needed.
Ensure that waste acceptance is in accordance with the waste management licences/permits for each site.
Identify the waste types and understand what is deemed acceptable to all sites when considering legislation and the environmental permit.
To assist the Waste Acceptance Manager in the submission of reports and information for use internally and by the Regulator.
Update the team on sampling variations for Water Discount, LOI, and any other variances and/or non-conformances.
To support the Senior Sales Manager to ensure that all customer enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner and in accordance with Company policies, processes, and controls.
Maintain accurate records (both electronic and hard copies as required).
